Lightplay designs, installs and maintains a full scope of maintained and non-maintained emergency lighting specifications that fall within the re-mitt of BS5266.
The purpose of emergency lighting is to ensure that lighting is provided, promptly and automatically, for a suitable time when the normal supply to the lighting has failed. This is to ensure that fire exit and escape routes are illuminated so as to allow safe evacuation of a building in the case of an emergency.
It is essential that all maintained and non-maintained emergency lights are tested on a regular basis to prove they are still functioning as outlined in the requirements of BS5266.
BS5266 states that all emergency lighting systems be periodically tested and inspected by a person deemed competent, as defined by BS7671 Electrical Regulations, over the course of their lifetime to ensure that the emergency lighting system still works and functions as it was originally intended.
